Food and Civil Supply

South Tripura district is in proficiency in the field of Public Distribution System. There are 12 food go-downs covering 4 sub-divisions to give a smooth flow of essential commodities like Rice, Sugar, salt and K Oil, specially to help the BPL Card holders.  The food materials are distributed from the Central Food go-down at ADNagar, Agartala based on the requisitions submitted by the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates.

The Food-Inspector under the control of the Sub-Divisional Magistrates goes for frequent inspection of Ration Shops. In case of any kind of discrepancy or unlawful activities, the owners of Ration Shops are brought to books immediately.

All Sub-Divisional Magistrates report to the DM & Collector in case of any dislocation/ mismanagement in the public distribution system.

The capacity of go-down at Udaipur, Belonia, Amarpur and Sabroom are 1975 MT, 2559 MT, 1600 MT and 1570 MT respectively. The total requirement of Rice, Sugar, Salt and K Oil in the district are 4481 MT, 508.6 MT, 524.9 MT and 186.9 KL respectively.
